Dropbox is a simple product that can make sharing and accessing documents extremely easy. To start using Dropbox you download the Dropbox software from their website and install it on your computer. A folder appears on your computer with the Dropbox icon. Any files you want to be able to access from other computers are put in this folder. Dropbox then syncs these files to their server so that you can access them from other computers with the Dropbox software.

You can download the Dropbox software to your home computer, your office computer, laptop and even your smartphone and any files you add to the Dropbox folder are available to all of the other devices. Dropbox for Tutoring Companies

There are a number of reasons why Dropbox is useful for tutoring companies.

1. If you work from a number of different locations with different computers and like to always have access to your important files, Dropbox lets you do this and you don’t even have to think about which files are saved on which computer. Just add them to your Dropbox folder and they will be available anywhere.

2. If you have several employees that you want to share files with such as contracts, employee manuals, teaching aids, etc. you can add folders to Dropbox that are shared with other Dropbox users. You can create one folder for all employees that contains general documents you want to share with all of your tutors, and you can create a separate folder for each tutor that contains documents with private information. When you update documents and save them to these shared folders, your employees will have access to up-to-date versions of the documents.

3. Dropbox is quick. As the owner of a tutoring business, efficiency and time-savings are valuable and drop-box delivers. Many file-sharing systems require you to upload documents, sometimes one at a time. This means you need to browse for the file on your computer, wait for it to upload and then move on to the next. If you have a lot of files that need to be shared this can consume a lot of time. With Dropbox, the process is as simple as dragging and dropping files from one folder to another. Dropbox syncs the files in the background while you can do other things.

Dropbox offers free plans that should offer enough file space for most small companies, but if you are a larger company and require more space, the affordable paid plans for this software will likely pay for themselves in time-savings and convenience.

  1. Question about revising documents: Can who is authorized to revise a document be controlled? When revising a document – if I revise it on my computer, will it be updated within Dropbox?
